If you’ve ever experienced:
Anxiety when you’re meeting with a high risk client, because you’re unsure whether or not you’ve asked enough questions to ensure their safety.
Fear that your client is higher risk than they’re letting on, but you aren’t sure how to get to the answers to keep them safe.
A client attempts suicide and you obsessed over what you missed, what you could have asked, or what more you could have done to prevent it.
A child or pre-teen client present with self-injurious behaviors, but you aren’t really sure whether or not they are suicidal or concealing their feelings.
Meet the Instructor
Norine Vander Hooven has been in the mental health field for 38 years. For the last 15 years she has worked in crisis intervention leading a mobile crisis response team for youth ages 3-17, has been the chair person of the Youth Suicide Prevention Committee for the American Association of Suicidology (2017-2020), and has been on the media and communications team for the American Association of Suicidology for 5 years. Norine has been educating her community and clinicians all over the country on suicide risk assessments and interventions for the last 12 years. Norine is also an EMDR Certified Clinician and Consultant through EMDRIA and also provides consultation and advanced training courses on EMDR.
